My goal is to be a sanctuary for others: a person who will listen without judgment; welcome without question; accept without hesitation; love without condition; and share laughter and joy, on good days and bad. With everyone. Not just those who voted like me. Not just those who look like me, or believe like me, or love like me, or talk like me, or live like me. I intend to be a sanctuary for every single person with whom I come in contact. It is taking me some time. I have to admit I’ve had some struggles with loving my neighbor through this season. I am counting on my friends and family to remind me that my goal is to be a sanctuary of respite for weary travelers in the days and years ahead. I am hoping to build my sanctuary near your sanctuary so that we can help each other and learn from each other and navigate this journey together. And create an entire community of sanctuary, loving our neighbors.
